The Little Falls Sign ordinance allows one flag and one sign not to exceed 4 sq feet in a residential district(which this home is in). Or two signs not to exceed 8 square feet, with a maxiumum height of 4 feet. Can you tell that SEASONS GREETINGS BANNER is way taller than that. This property has one of the largest flags in town currently flying and 6 total signs. They are waaaaay over the sign limit and in VIOLATION OF THE LAW. This property is directly south of Grace Covenant church, and right across the street (from councilor Loren Boyum's church) so Boyum sees this violation every time he attends church. Not only that. The current mayor Cathy VanRisseghem lives within a mile from this property and drives by it to get to her house. The large sign for the park that is on Covenant Church property had no sign permit. The church recently applied to get one. I wonder how many other churches are in violation of the sign ordinance? Better check on yours. This might be embarrassing for some, real soon. If you don't wish for your church to be discovered non-compliant, better ask your pastor or priest if there is a permit for any signs on your church's property.
These sign violations were complained about quite awhile ago. Let's see how long it takes for them to become compliant or face the music. Ben Oleson are you listening. Time will tell if you are uniformly enforcing the sign ordinance. If not, I will not be silent. Count on it.
If your business does not have the proper sign permit, better get it soon. Last chance. Forewarned.
The picture below with no snow is from 11-8-14 and was reported in violation then. See Councilor Loren Boyums church in the background? He passes by this property every time he attends church and stated during the depositions under oath that he had read the sign ordinance. No surprise he does nothing about this violation. His own church was in violation, having never gotten a permit for the sign on their park down below by the river on the back side of this church.
