Little Falls city council work session 8-1-16 city violate Cable Communications Policy Act of 1984 and Backyard chickens ordinance request

Sure looks to me like the city has been in violation of the Cable Communications Policy Act of 1984(federal law), since May 15, 2015 when the previous franchise agreement with Charter Communications expired. City was informed way back in 2012 by attorney Bob Vose, that the city would need to negotiate/ pass/sign  a new REQUIRED franchise agreement in order to allow New Charter to operate cable tv within the city.  The City Cable Board has sat on their hands for more than 4 years, and STILL does not have a current contract agreement.   I have attended almost every Cable Board meeting since 2012, and am stunned as to the citys responsibility to operate ABOVE THE BOARD.  The last Cable Board mtg. that was called on July 18th, not one official city representative showed up, so the meeting could not officially take place as there was no quorum.  Leif Hanson and Jon Radermacher are on that board.   The only 2 that showed up were Chris Weis(former GRA TV manager) and Jay Spillum.  Now what's wrong with this picture.  Since July 18th, I have sent an email to Jon Radermacher voicing my concern over this matter....and now all of a sudden a Cable Board meeting has been published to take place on Monday August 8, 2016 at 1pm at the GRA TV station located in the back of the  GRAA building downtown Little Falls, Mn. They are panicking, as I have complained to the State Attorney Generals office, as this is a consumer issue, which they handle.

Residents of Little Falls and customers of Charter TV deserve better than this.

Overpaid staff, city attorney and reckless/lawless council and mayor all need replacement.

Just how much MORE  will your city screw up?

And notice alot of the conversation is hard to hear, because council and city administrator are not seated behind a microphone(they are available...all they need to do is sit behind the dais for the work session so their voices can be heard clearly by audience members)......several attendees of work sessions have requested better amplification of their voices, but they sit on their hands doing nothing to accommodate the public taxpayers with this important accommodation either.

City of clowns.

Notice also, how rude the council is(especially Jeremy Hanfler) trying to shut me up, even when they are not in a meeting, when I try to let them all know I support backyard chickens, and was one of very few people who attended those meetings years ago, when Hannah Villette asked city to consider allowing her to have chickens in her backyard.  They just don't want to hear anything I have to say.  My speech matters. And so does everyone elses that attends council work sessions.  They rarely listen to any of us.

Remember that when you cast your vote on Nov. 4th

  1. I feel like perhaps you set yourself aside from most of the people who contribute to the positive side of Little Falls, and try to justify why you deserve special treatment by throwing your opinions in everyone's face with your signs and obnoxious behavior. You are very fine with trying to get a rise out of people who want nothing to do with you, but when that backlash is expressed towards you, you play the victim. There is a great deal that is wrong with you, and I'm afraid that you will never be able to comprehend that in any way. Let me just end this small blurb by telling you that your black spray painted car is a fine example of how you will say whatever it takes to get a rile out of people. "Black lives matter" is a selfish statement. What about Hispanics, Hmong, Somali, etc.. (i.e. all lives matter). The city of Little Falls is obviously a homogeneous community, but rather than shoving everything at people and forcing the culture shock that is new ethnicities and religions, maybe it's best that you let things happen how they usually do - people get over it, they get used to it, everything eventually falls into place and people learn to deal with change. This isn't a black lives matter protest town, and I think it's ridiculous that you are even making that a relevant thing to think about here. Go look on the inmates list on the Sheriff's office site. Figure out the percentage of white people compared to other races, and then you yourself will see why you should just paint your car a new color, and let your opinions be yours in polite silence, just as most people in this town do. This is not a hate comment, but a hopeful reminder that spilled milk is not something to cry about.

    1. Gerald, Thank you for your comment. In this city and nation, there are laws against committing theft and vandalism. To report crimes against me, is the right thing to do, so hopefully the police can solve the crime, and so the public is informed. I have a right to display any signs I choose to on my vehicles or on my property. Those who do not like my idea signage, are free to look away. Nobody is forced to look at my signs or flags. I have many friends of all different ethnicity and faith, including Hmong, Vietnamese, Lao, African American, Native American, Muslim, Jewish, Latina, Somali, and more. What are you doing to educate, inform, and diversify this community? How many times have you run for public office, to attempt to make a difference for the common good? Why do you feel I should be silent, like most of the other people in this town are? Why does my creativity bother you?
