Council members are PAID $$850.00 per month

For those of you who are not aware.....council members are paid REALLY well. Usually councilors spend between 4-6 hours per month at meetings. 2 work sessions and 2 council meetings. Each of these meetings usually last 1-1/2 hours max. Do the math. That'$ close to $200.00 per hour....about the same as the city attorney is paid.  At present, Frank Gosiak Ward 3 west side and Gerald Knafla ward 2 north side, have NO challenger.  If no one challenges them, they automatically will be reinstated. That would be a shame. One of the reasons the west side of town has MANY gravel streets and avenues, is because Frank Gosiak and Jeremy Hanfler have NOT represented their west side constituents well at all. Some alleys on the east side are paved....but not streets and roads on the west side. It's called discrimination folks. It is totally unacceptable that in the year 2016 there are ANY gravel streets/avenues on the west side. Don't you agree? It costs only $2.00 to file and you have until 5pm on August 16th to join the race. If you are not sure how to fill out the paperwork feel free to call me at 320-360-3931. I will help you. We need somone who will represent the west side fairly.  Gerald should have a challenger from the north side of town too. No free rides given. My humble opinion. Frankly I believe NO elected representatives should be paid a penny. Just reimbursed any legitimate expenses. But since they ARE paid and paid WELL.....everyone should know that fact.
