Sex TRAFFICKING in Minnesota

The League of Women Voters held an informational seminar on sex trafficking, at the Brainerd Library 12-10-15. Listen to all of the video and comments.

 The information below was not part of this presentation but IS very important. Former NYPD detective James Rothstein investigated sex trafficking in Minnesota for years. Some may not know that that the NYPD has officers working in many if not all other states. Jim is passionate about the need for mothers, grandmothers, and all other women to organize groups that will flood legislators offices with calls to push legislation to solve the sex traffick epidemic that plagues this nation. Randall Bjerkness got the message.

12-8-15. Little Falls, Mn. Randall Bjerkness removed his illegal Happy  New Year sign (that was erected illegally, well above the 4 ft max height.)  He needed a warning letter from city and my video of his lawbreaking to convince him to comply. 2 years in a row, he violated the sign ordinance.

What the city needs to remember is that when they make exceptions/extensions for one and not another, they may be inviting another legal challenge.  Lori Williams is recorded after the public hearing that she was NOT GOING TO reverse the fence. I was recording.

 Remember I was forced to remove my signs within 2 weeks after I asked for a one month extension(in 20 below weather in middle of winter) because I had full blown pneumonia.  Instead of allowing me a 30 day extension, as they gave to numbers of businesses, they denied me. I had to be out in frigid weather with pneumonia, to remove my signs. Needless to say, I got much sicker.

 This is another TERRIFIC EXAMPLE of selective enforcement. Thanks city for continuing to build my case for me. Much appreciated.

Don't miss the part where Loren Boyum says he feels they should pass this by(or something to that affect...in other words, don't do anything with my request, which would be ILLEGAL AND VIOLATE MY FREE SPEECH CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS.) Look closely at the anger in Brad Hircocks eyes when he looks directly at me and says he doesn't like to operate under a threat so someone can get their way(or something to that affect)....in other words, he feels I had no right to insist on similar treatment as Lindbergh Lions have received. 

 

Brad Hircock and Loren Boyum voted against my constitutional rights.  Remember that at election time folks.  These 2 feel the Constitution only applies to some, not everyone.

Fred and Kathy Festler violate sign ordinance AGAIN

And they know better. They just had a LFPD cop tell them to remove 2 illegal garage sale signs about a month ago.

AND they were at the sign ordinance revisions public hearing recently where Ben Oleson told EVERYONE that signs in the road right of way are still illegal going forward. Plus there was,a big article in the Morrison County Record that explained this. They have NO EXCUSE. They just feel "above the law." Shame on them both.

Councilor Loren Boyum if you remember is the same councilor that said he did not represent me. "Not me. No not you." back in 2013.  I believe he still feels that way, even though he publicly apologized during a recorded council meeting.   He doesn't get to pick and choose who he represents.   He gets money from a Camp Ripley mentorship school program. He is also former Army. Is it possible he is worried about losing his salary from the military if he complains about an illegal flyover in his ward?   Doesn't he care about the clients/patients of St. Gabriel"s hospital?  Does he think Camp Ripleys Range Regulations don't have to be followed?  Really?   What kind of guy is this anyway? City to develop a policy on DISPLAYS ON CITY PROPERTY?

I  emailed Mayor Greg Zylka, the zoning administrator(Nov.15, 2015) and city attorney Wetzel (on Nov.16,2015) a request to have a seasonal display on city property, as the Lindbergh Lions have been allowed to do, at LeBourget Park, for the last 2 years.

I requested to be on the council agenda 12-7-15, following an email response from the zoning administrator stating the council would have to make that decision.

Now all of a sudden there's an urgent need to develop a policy on displays on city property.

Do you see what's going on here?

Simple enough for a child to understand.

Odd timing to proclaim this. AND how does 2/3 of this proclamation have anything to do with delivery of city services? So Mr. Mayor, if the mechanics were killing unarmed citizens, would you make a proclamation for them too??  

What'$ next....the proclamation commending our soldiers?  

I will make sure the Minneapolis NAACP president Nekima Levy Pounds(Joe Nathans letter in McRecord 12-6-15, gets a copy as well as the Mpls./St.Paul BlackLivesMatter.

I wonder who wrote this proclamation. Notice it reads "upmost" instead of "utmost" ....I wonder if that was a typo OR if the writer knew the difference. There is an N missing on one of the words "known".....maybe city needs a new proof reader/document drafter?

What do you think motivated the mayor to proclaim this? I think I know.

What an unusual retirement letter. If you didn't know he worked for the city, it would appear he was employed by a church or religious organization. And I understand this upstanding "believer" has had 2 divorces. Do you suppose his church agrees with divorce? Bet not.

 I wonder if the city would publish a Muslim employees letter of resignation, that glorified Allah?  Or a Satanist employee,who gave the glory to Lucifer.

I believe they have set a precedent.

Mark Fyten, inaccurate statements, KLTF radio and fair use. My critique of local media.

Now is a good time to write about the incident that occurred on air on the Up Front program of KLTF radio on 11-17-15.  I called in to let the listeners know about my recent request via email, to have a seasonal display on city property, as the Lindbergh Lions have done for the last 2 years now at LeBourget Park(city owned). I sent an email  to the city attorney Toni Wetzel, Mayor Greg Zylka, as well as Ben Oleson zoning administrator. I then proceeded to inform the listeners, that Lois Macjei was denied amplification at the podium during her public comment during an official Little Falls City Council Work Session.(she had a really hoarse voice)   After she and I asked them to turn the microphone on the podium on, they argued about it and finally allowed her to sit by a microphone close to where the city administrator was seated.  I stated what a shame this was, that the city has equipment and doesn't even utilize it.  

Under "Fair Use"  I am sharing this to educate the public about what I believe are repeated non-factual biased statements, routinely made by the hosts of the Up Front program.   They rarely, if ever, cite their sources.
The hosts suggest people can access videos and other information on their website.   Did they get permission in advance of posting these videos and articles?   Doubtful.  


Here is the important part of the transcript from that program where I believe Mark Fyten stated inaccuracies about open public work session meetings.

Robin "I also want to alert the listeners to the fact that Lois Macjei last night was denied at least temporarily, until she insisted, and I spoke up for her as well, at a city council official work session to speak at the podium with the podium microphone on.  Not only do they not broadcast the work sessions publicly, they don't want the public in the audience to be able to hear what the speakers during the public forum are saying to them. What a disgrace to this city and I stated so.  Even though our manager of our public television station requested of the city, could he film those work sessions and put them on, they have denied him. Why? What are they so afraid of? Why do they have to operate in the dark?"


Mark Fyten "Cuz sometimes, there is uh, information that's discussed at a work session that isn't necessarily available, it shouldn't be available for public consumption."

Robin "That's, that can't possibly be true, because work sessions are open to the public."

Mark Fyten "Well don't, don't tell me it can't nec, a be true, because I know.  I've been in work sessions where people, you discuss personal information about employees and things like that."

Robin "No they can't."

Mark Fyten ""That is not, should not be for public consumption."

Robin "What you just stated is not true." 

That ended the program.


  I wonder if Mark Fyten will retract his statements or cling to his blunder? Time will tell. 

No wonder the listeners/readers of local media have a tainted version of reality. The McRecord and KLTF right wing slant/bias/poor journalism(if it can even be called that) is to blame. 

The people of Morrison County would be wise to DEMAND better than they are getting.

Retkas violate HPC and city demolition rules

 I wonder why the Retkas feel above the law.  I will let the documents speak for themselves. Remember though, HPC money is YOUR MONEY....TAXPAYER MONEY.  As you might remember I am opposed to any form of business/corporate welfare. And this is certainly one form of that.  Economic Development funds are in that category also. I wonder how many tens of thousands of dollars of TAXPAYER money has been lost when a business violates the rules or fails, without repayment of all or a portion of the loan?  Can you afford this?

 They NEVER got a demolition permit, asbestos inspection OR got permission from HPC. I was at the HPC meeting where Don Opatz stated there was HPC money in the building AT THE TIME IT WAS DEMOLISHED. Retkas should be ashamed.

 Why should govmint finance business but not your car loan so you can get to YOUR job? This is nonsense. If business owners, small and large can't make it without govmints help, they should work for someone who can.

 In the future I will be sharing more about who in your community is opportunity hoarding at your expense.

 Look below...why would tge city finance officer have to speak with Retkas on SEVERAL occassions about their loan OBLIGATION?  What kind of people need constant reminding?

Lori Williams is a Coborns pharmacy employee where Alderman Brad Hircock is pharmacy mgr. Mayor Greg Zylka manages Coborns Superstore and is Alderman Brad Hircocks boss.

As you can see from the documents Lori and Scott had 60 days past Sept.15,2015 to reverse the illegal fence and shorten the front portion to 5 feet. At the planning meeting on Sept. 15th the date for compliance within 60 days was changed from August 20th to Sept.15th to give the Williams almost an additional month to come into compliance.

They have not yet done either, as of 12-1-15. Question is, what will city do to gain compliance? The other question is why do the Williams feel above the law? Now if you remember earlier this year Alderman Hircock got by with placing a number of illegal road right of way garage sale signs(2 of them attached to bicycles and bikes were fastened to stop signs at busy intersections, creating traffic hazards). The LFPD officers turned a blind eye to them, after speaking with someone at Brads home. The signs were left up for more than 2 days until the sale was over. Coborns Pharmacy also placed an illegal advertising sign in the road right of way this fall, on highway 27, also creating a road hazard. Maybe Lori is learning her lawlessness from her boss?

 Randall spoke at the public hearing and heard Ben Oleson zoning administrator tell everyone present that NO SIGNS in residential districts can be higher than 4 feet. And yet he hangs his Happy New Year Banner way higher than 4 feet. Why? Does he believe he is above the law, OR that the city will let him get by with this. Notice he put the Merry Christmas on the trailer. He should have put them both on the trailer. That's legal.
