Savvy readers SHOULD be able to read between Zylkas lines, to get to the TRUTH. Fact is, former and current mayors/city councilors ALL liked the CONTENT of the Lindbergh Lions SPEECH(Christmas, shopping, Charles Lindbergh and EVEN the nativity(Christianity).....no objections to THAT kind of message in this area......they ALL voted to approve the Lions display on school or city property(all with illegal signage, under past and current sign ordinances).... WAY before I asked for the same privilege. The readers should remember that it was the CONTENT of MY seasonal display, they didn't approve of and worried that SOME may find MY anti-war/pro-peace message in this wartown, offensive. You see Little Falls, Mn is 7 miles south of Camp Ripley, the largest live fire military training base in the entire Midwest. And Little Falls has over 300 veterans that saw combat in Iraq/Afghanistan, or both for numerous deployments. Many of those National Guardsmen/women, consider Little Falls their home base. And let'$ NOT forget the 3 MILLION $$$$ plus, local economic impact that Ripley provides. Camp Ripley is the LARGEST employer in all of Morrison County.
Peace messages/activism are NOT polular in a wartown.
All the past elected officials/city staff/city attorneys had to do was abide by the Constitution. Not too much to expect, when ALL elected representatives, and soldiers are SWORN to obey it.
For DECADES, this city has violated not only the Constitution, but their own DAMN LAWS/ORDINANCES. And not just a few either......too numerous to count.
