DesRosier Drive neighborhood

This is what'$ coming soon to your neighborhood.  These pictures taken 7-31-15 on the outskirts of Pierz,Mn......where they SHOULD be. These are the fourplexes that are likely built by Roach Developers and will look very similar, if not IDENTICAL to those to be built on DesRosier Drive. I think they look like an office complex or a strip mall.

The fourplexes by the Royalton splashpad look very similar.

PUBLIC funds $$$ WASTED

Take a look at the latest FOOLISH idea....city spent close to $400.00 for these flowers and the areas they are planted in, are once again full of weeds.  This $$ does NOT INCLUDE city staff time to plant them either....which I am sure was HUNDREDS MORE.  Flowers cannot thrive planted next to a large tree, that will sap all the moisture.  This was a very poor idea.  Why on earth can't the people in charge of public monies think better? I even tried to help them, by telling them that the trees needed the water and IF flowers were going to be planted downtown, they needed better soil and daily watering.  Come on business community...this doesn't enhance the downtown landscape. Welcome non-profits UPDATED 7-28-15....IMPORTANT

I have been informed that this sign is allowable, due to an exception in Minnesota State Statute 173.08   That statute allows service club and religious notices, as well as temporary signs placed by auctioneers under section 169.07  This is very important, as I am an ordained pastor.

In an 7-10-15 email to me, from Rich Munch of MnDOT, I was informed that this sign has no permit.

.   No wonder when I complained in writing to the zoning administrator, numerous times, they never investigated my complaint.

Why this matters, is that I wish to call an action in this location, and need help to determine where the state road right of way ends.

Now why would this officer, return the garage sale sign to the perpetrator, when Chief Schirmers letter instructs differently?

  If this is officer discretion, why do they need a chief?   What kind of a chief is Schirmers anyway, allowing rogue officers to skirt his orders?

Lori Kasella still dragging her feet

The following picture shows 2 data requests that Lori Kasella seems to be purposely holding out on. Today is 7-26-15. Dan Vogt, part time city administrator, self employed/ contacted by the city of Little Falls, is the Responsible Authority. He farms out the public data gathering job to the HIGHEST PAID city front office employee, Lori Kasella, the Finance Administrator. Can you guess why Lori doesn't want to give me this info?

The Sister City $$$ data request is almost 4 months overdue now. Last week she stated she would be coming into the office this weekend to fill this data request. So now isn't that convenient that she (likely) gets OVERTIME ??  Council will be voting this fall 2015, on what to do with the 9K or more of public funds that are still held by the city. Coincidence I still don't have this public info....I don't think so.

1019 Riverview Drive UPDATED 8-10-15

Oh look...1019 Riverview Drive has 5 flags erected 7-24-15. Pictured above.

This home at  609 First St NE  had at least 15-20 flags and signs (or more) on July 12, 2015. Sign ordinance only allows 2 flags or one sign and one flag. Signs cannot exceed 4 sq.ft. if you have one flag, otherwise you can have no more than 8 sq ft of sign space and no flags. Those flag banners mounted to the house count as flags or banners.  This property also has 2 large wooden flags (not pictured) attached to the north side of their home and another on the front of their garage.

They are in violation of the sign ordinance. As of today 7-24-15, all of these flags and signs are still up.

This is  1401 Riverview Drive, about half mile from the city attorney Toni Wetzels home. These pictures were taken 7-12-15 and the giant flag attached to the porch counts as a banner and is more than 8 sq ft.  They COULD legally fly that flag on a pole or suspend so that the top is affixed to pole and bottom flies loose in the wind. That is legal. Size of flag doesn't matter if flag flies in typical fashion.. It has been taken down.

This home is at 1107  West Broadway and in the picture below of their side yard, they are over the 2 flag limit of the sign ordinance. Look closely, they are tiny but every one counts as a flag.  Only time Little Falls residents can have UNLIMITED SIGNS AND FLAGS(SIGN MAYHEM) is before an election.

These flags have all been removed.   

Now so that everyone understands clearly. I OPPOSE having a restrictive sign ordinance. Little Falls would be waaaay better off without one, altogether. Who cares if I have large signs up (or anyone else for that matter)?  For all the time, energy and money spent on enacting the Hopkins model ordinance, everyone is now feeling the pinch...not just me.  If I have to obey the sign ordinance, so do all the rest of you Littlefallsians.  Tis only fair. When enough of you are sick of it, sign the online petition to delete it.

Oh look....even Our Lady of Lourdes Church appears to be in violation of MnDot law, that prohibits signs and banners in the road right of way without a permit from them. This picture was taken July 12, 2015. UPDATE......MN STATUTE 173 allows service clubs and religious organizations to post signs without a permit in the road right of way. Thank you Rich Munsch of MNDOT for informing me.

City of Little Falls owns the property this Franklin billboard sits on 7-24-15

Watch this blog carefully into the future. These pictures taken 7-24-15 on the east side of Little Falls.

I have gobs of data in my billboard file to go through and as I find relevant information I will publish on this post.  The lease between the city and Franklin signs was NOT on the table where all data to be discussed at council work sessions is to be displayed for the public.  Any city that hides public information is not an honest govmint. I am sure the city AND Steve Anderson would LOVE to do public business behind closed doors, but there are laws prohibiting that.  This doesn't reflect well on Franklin sign company, that'$ for sure. Makes both city and Franklin signs look like the $tinker$ they are.  Take a look at Steven Andersons letter below:

I intend to find out about all city agreements with billboard or sign companies on city owned property.

I'll be sure to let you know how long Lori Kasella drags her feet getting these 2 data requests ready.  Currently she is 2 months behind on a request I made on all the Sister City funds.  

POLICE MISCONDUCT■■update 8-2-15■■ incident report filed 7-24-15

Right after I posted these comments on McRecord, the daily police reports were removed. I suggested tracking them to discover what's really going on and BINGO....THEY GET REMOVED.

As of 8-14-15, Chief Schirmers of the Little Falls Police Department removed the daily online police reports.  This reeks of corruption.

Today 7-24,2015, I filed an official police conduct incident report on Officer Rick Heurung, with City of Little Falls. See photos below:

Low and behold, who accepts the police incident report from me, but the repeat sign offender herself, LFPD dispatcher Kathy Barthel. Look at the bottom of the page, where her flag overages are shown.  These flags were flying in July  of this year 2015, as about the same time last year 2014, when she was out of compliance and sent a warning letter. She knows the limit is 2 flags per property....and yet she knowingly violates the sign law again this year. Lots of folks in this town feel above the law, but it's a whole other story when the lawbreakers are city police department staff or officers.
