my opponents signs LOCATION VERY INTERESTING

 Greg Zylka candidate for mayor is allowed two signs in front of KTLF radio station(who is hosting the supposedly unbiased candidate debates).  Chris Grams(widow of former Republican Senator Rod Grams) is the owner of the radio station. Now I really wonder why she would allow a democrat to post his signs in front of her station and not the current mayor Cathy VanRisseghem.

Here is the location of the mayors billboard.  On the property next to KTLF RADIO STATION.  I wonder if Chris doesn't like CathyVanRisseghem because of her passion to destroy the Dewey Radke home.  I wonder if the radio station really wants Greg Zylka to become the mayor of Little Falls.  I wonder if the radio station or Chris Grams is going to contribute to his campaign.  I wonder if Chris would allow one of my election signs on the radio stations property?   Suppose?   Both of these photos were taken 9-29-14.

I am not ALONE.

The following pictures are of David Petrovichs' home and property in Oakhurst, New Jersey.  These photos are all recent. He affixed numerous signs right onto the sides of his house siding.  He is that passionate about the problems facing our nation.  He used his property to exercise his right to free speech and now he is being threatened with a summons. His city may not have even had a sign ordinance before he was sent a letter.   His city has mandated he remove his signs that are erected right on his home and his fences, trees and in his yard.

 A friend alerted me about his situation.  He is a graduate of Rutgers University and wanted to project his ideas through signs, similar to mine. He is also the executive director for the Society for the Preservation of Homeownership, Oakhurst, New Jersey.

This is grassroots democracy in action.

 These are just a few of his many signs.  On a fairly regular basis I get calls from others(some local and some a distance away) with issues with sign enforcement and other problems they are encountering. They ask for my help. 

ILLEGAL OFF PREMISE SIGNS

 This obviously illegal off premise Zion Lutheran Church aluminum cans sign(photo taken 9-17-14), is located close to the downtown dam, and was reported months ago, to the zoning officer Ben Oleson, and is still being allowed.   Why?   This and the next picture are obvious, glaring examples of selective/illegal enforcement of the sign ordinance. 

 This illegal off premise Boy Scout pop can collection sign(photo taken 9-27-14) is on Coborn's parking lot property and was reported months ago to Ben Oleson, the zoning administrator.   Why is it still allowed? 

This certainly doesn't look good for Coborn's to have an illegal sign on their premises.

Now don't get me wrong folks. I am not opposed to either of these signs if the ordinance allowed them legally.   However, the restrictive sign ordinance forbids ANY OFF PREMISE SIGNS. 

These two billboards(photo taken 9-18-14) are erected on City of Little Falls, Mn. land on the northeast side of town and borders highway 371.  There was discussion of these at a city council meeting a few months ago, and they are likely illegal off premise billboards.   These signs were reported as being illegal off premise signs and are still erected.

 I hope others will call on the city to get all the dozens of illegal signs in town, into compliance. 

Here is another illegal off premise Boys n Girls pop can collection sign in front of Donna's Big Jim restaurant on the west side of town.   This sign was also reported months ago to Ben Oleson the zoning administrator for Little Falls and is still allowed. 

Again, let me repeat.  I am NOT OPPOSED TO ANY OF THESE SIGNS, except that the sign ordinance forbids them and so they must come into compliance.  Laws need to be enforced fairly and uniformly.  Period.  No exceptions.

A downtown businessmans outrageous comments

Over the weekend I had a conversation with a fairly prominent and longtime local business owner.  This individual was a former political party head, as well as an educator.   He said he has been so bothered by some of my signs, that he felt like "lighting a match to them'' sometimes.    He claimed he is a law abiding person and would never do it.   

 I suggest  he divert his eyes, if he doesn't like the "look'' or "content" of my signs/yard art.       

I believe he should take a look into his own conscience, and then exercise it.  

After all, this is the "land of the brave and the free" right?

I reminded him that I own my property, and have the right to decorate it with whatever yard art I like.  

I told him that the laws need to be enforced uniformly, and not selectively.  I stated that we still do not have laws uniformly enforced in Little Falls.   As long as we allow selective enforcement of any law, this will plague our city.

Let's all work together to ensure we have democracy in our town.   Isn't that what America is all about? 

A note to Terry Lehrke....

I know this would not be printed on the commentary disqus thread of the MCRecord so I will post my comment/questions here instead. 

Why didn't you include in your article on the trial of Alderman Brian Crowder(Sept. 22+23rd, 2014) the disturbing comment made by Officer David Stevenson, that he asked to be taken off of the investigation of the incident at Oakland Cemetery, because he doesn't like politics at all, and didn't want any political ramifications?  Are sworn peace officers supposed to be allowed to "pick and choose" which cases and which individuals they investigate?  I don't think so.   This is an alarming statement and one that your readers were entitled to know to be fully informed.  

Why didn't you include the bigoted comment that Charlie Sprandel made when he was asked what the building was that Assistant County Prosecutor Todd Kosovich was pointing at on the platte map of Oakland Cemetery?  Sprandels comment was that he thought it was a mausoleum or a "SMOKEHOUSE'' or something.  This was of course a damning reference to the Holocaust crematoriums, and the Crowder Jewish ancestry.   I noticed while seated behind you in the courtroom,  when Sprandel made this comment, you shook your head in dismay. 

I am really disappointed in your lack of thoroughness in journalism.  Is it intentional, or an oversight on your part?  I hope you will explain to me, next time we see each other, why you did not include these two important pieces of information for your readers. 

The investigations of the many threats towards me over the course of the last 3 years, were no less riddled with officer changes in investigating them.  This is in part, in my opinion, why the threateners were never found/or identified.  This is poor policing, and then some. I remember in 2012 when I pointed out to you an alarming comment by a writer who called themself  "ENDLESS LOVELESS" and you removed the comment and blocked that individual.   You told me that anonymous commenters would not be allowed to comment.   What happened? 
What changed that you have since then allowed numerous commenters to post without identifying themselves? 

After speaking with a friend recently, I wonder if you really feel that I have been unfairly demeaned/threatened/harassed by some of the community members?   If so, why don't you write something about that?   Especially since it was your article titled "Police Lead Hensel out of Friday's Council meeting" that led up to the incitement of a terroristic  threat to me.  This terroristic threat was posted for 11 days before I reported it to the Little Falls Police Department.  This is totally unacceptable and sloppy oversight of a commentary thread, no matter whose job it was to police it. 

As mayor, I will be diligent to ensure that the Morrison County Record lives up to the expectation of fair/factual and unbiased journalism or I will move to change the official newspaper of the City of Little Falls to a newspaper that will accomplish this.  That you and the voters can count on. 

So many people have made statements under oath, or just in conversation that they have formed their opinions on what they read in the Record.  Given the fact that the reporting has many times, been less than stellar, I am not dismayed that the present mayor and council have allowed the Record to continue as it's official newspaper.   I have witnessed either the city administrators or council/committee members suggesting "and Terry, you don't have to print that."  

As mayor, I will put an end to the discriminatory/sloppy policing that goes on in this town on a regular basis.  It is one of the highest priorities for me.  I am concerned about racial profiling as well, and intend to ferret the facts out, and then inform the population as to what I discover.   This should be a priority of our current mayor, but obviously is not. 

I look forward to the day when the City of Little Falls and the Morrison County Record are no longer in bed together. 

Darwin J. Allord, a hometown boy and HIS TERRORISTC THREAT*****.ATTENTION****FULL COMMENTARY THREAD ADDED

I believe this is Darwin J. Allord, the man that wrote the terroristic threat on the Morrison County Record  commentary thread that followed the article about my illegal arrest titled "Police Lead Hensel out of Friday's Council Meeting."  His comment was "Why not just pull a "gordie" and shoot her? It worked last time."    What he is referring to is the shooting of Gordon Wheeler by three law enforcement officers,  in the Morrison County Courthouse.

 The Little Falls Police Department could not locate him, but I did.    They evidently didn't even do a Facebook search.

On Darwin's Facebook friend list you will see he is friends with Darrell Allord (his brother I believe), Brenda Allord(Darrell's wife), Sheri Welle(who lives in Little Falls), Shannon Cichon(went to school at Central Lakes College in Brainerd), Heidi Majaski Allord(lives in Little Falls), Elizabeth Birr(lives in Little Falls, is Darwin J. Allords cousin, and worked at St. Gabriel's Hospital), Motor Allord(lives in Greely, Colorado and is friends with Michael Strack from Little Falls;(who bragged about pulling the Strack attack, when he and a companion after dark parked his burgundy pickup truck across the street from me, and then snuck away in the dark, and thought nobody would see them) with the big sign in the back of the truck bed  that said "Because of her, I can't find the garage sales" with a big arrow pointing towards my house), and  John W. Gallagher from Little Falls.

 Some of these people have direct or indirect connection to local police officers, and that would help explain why the local police were not willing to find Darwin J. Allord.

   I also discovered Darwins address and phone number in Hanford, California, on Radaris.

  Why do you suppose our local police department was unable to find him, speak with him and ask why he made that comment?  You would think they could/should have done at least that much, right?  I was told they were unable to locate Darwin J. Allord, so nothing was ever really done to investigate or prosecute him.  I wonder why not?  Why were ABSOLUTELY NONE OF THE THREATENERS OF ME, PROSECUTED?

There are either serious problems within the Little Falls Police Department ability to perform their jobs correctly, or maybe our present Mayor Cathy VanRisseghem is the problem, since she is the head of the police department.

I believe an outside investigation needs to be done, to find out the truth about our police department. 

I have had calls over last three years from people who have been troubled, or angry about our police department, and also the Morrison County Sheriffs Department.  I am not the only one who has concerns.

I believe this is Darrell Allord, Darwin's brother who lives by the Twin Cities....Blaine???   according to his public Facebook page.   The information I have says that  they are both graduates of  Little Falls High School.

  Darrell made a comment on the same commentary thread (listed above), with his real name used.  His comment was: "Just like you, Linda....can never take you anywhere where you're bumping people's signs...what next? You're not going to steal nuts from the chipmunks in your yard are you?....sheez."

Now you would think that the LFPD would have seen that there were two people with the same last name on this commentary thread and should have been able to put 2 and 2 together.   Guess not.

Who Darrell is referring to in his comment, is Linda Burgraff, ex-officio on the Little Falls Historic and Planning Commission/owner of a local business(Lin Furniture), and the fact that she grabbed one of  my signs without my permission.

HERE ARE THE OTHER COMMENTS THAT LED UP TO DARWIN J. ALLORDS what I have been told was a TERRORISTIC THREAT

Michelle Hoover; "Was the City Council afraid she was going to start a riot?  Were they afraid she had a weapon and was going to hurt them?  If the only problem was she was there drawing attention to herself WHO CARES?  Really you can't have a meeting with a sign present or a woman dressed in colorful dresses?  Grow up City Council, your job is to discuss city matters with the residents of the city regardless of how "crazy" you think the residents are.  You proved her point, nice job drawing attention to her case, do your job around her and ignore her if  you don't want to deal with her.  Obviously she has something to talk about, she feels her rights were violated and you pretty much proved that.  Next time maybe you should stack the audience with your friends and family to intimidate her, maybe then she will leave you along.  Unless you've already done that?"

Terry Lehrke, who wrote "Police lead Hensel out of Friday's Council meeting" in the Morrison County Record, was I believe, the moderator of the commentary thread at the time this was all written.  It was the job of the Record to moderate comments.  This wasn't the first threat that had been written to me on their commentary thread. I had spoken to Terry sometime before this about anonymous commenters making threats and she informed me that the MCRecord would not be allowing anonymous posters to comment.   The comments were left up for 11 days until I found them.  I went to the LFPD to report this and spoke to Officer Dave Stumpf.  He called Terry Lehrke, and then the comments of  Darwin J. Allord and John Zylka were deleted.  
Sometime shortly after that, ECM publishers(which owns the MCRecord) changed their commentary thread to Disqus.  All of the former comments, that were ever made on the comment thread of the MCRecord, were then deleted. 

Minnesota statute 609.713 Terroristic threats

Subdivision 1. Threaten violence; intent to terrorize.

Whoever threatens, directly or indirectly, to commit any crime of violence with a purpose to terrorize another or to cause evacuation of a building, place of assembly, vehicle or facility of public transportation or otherwise to cause serious public inconvenience, or in a reckless disregard of the risk of causing such terror or inconvenience may be sentenced to imprisonment for not more than five years or to payment of a fine of not more than $10,000.00, or both.  As used in this subdivision, "crime of violence" has the meaning given "violent crime" in section 609.1095, subdivision 1, paragraph (d)

Subd. 2 Communicates to terrorize.

Whoever communicates to another with a purpose to terrorize another or in reckless disregard of the risk of causing such terror, that explosives or an explosive device or any incendiary device is present at a named place or location, whether or not the same is in fact present, may be sentenced to imprisonment for not more than three years or to payment of a fine of not more than $3,000.00, or both.

Urban Otremba....SHOCKING STATEMENTS FROM HIS OWN MOUTH.

Notice the Morrison County Record article by Terry Lehrke, does not include Otrembas request to leave the banner up, even though he knows it is illegal.  The part where Toni Wetzel tells Otremba it must come down and "that's what you fought for, everyone must be treated equally" is completely omitted from Lehrkes article.   See how this works.  To protect Otrembas image, she leaves that out completely.  Watch the video and you will understand.

One of the candidates for Little Falls Alderman at Large is career politician Urban Otremba(former father in law of Tim Schmidt, another candidate for the Alderman seat.) 

I thought it might interest a number of residents/taxpayers to know that your former Council president Urban Otremba led the charge to unconstitutionally deny me of an advertising bench on City Hall property in 2012.  

Candidate Otremba also led the charge to publicly defame Alderman Brian Crowder in 2011. 

Candidate Otremba made some telling statements under oath during the depositions for my Free Speech lawsuit.   The following quotes are from Urban's deposition taken by Attorney Larry Frost.

When questioned by Frost about the We Support Our Troops banner and if Otremba thought it should still remain erected, even though Otremba knew it was illegally erected and maintained by the City of Little Falls for more than 10 years and was erected under an unconstitutional sign ordinance, Otremba answered like the bull-headed intolerant leader he was; 

Frost;"But in your opinion, even though you knew the sign was illegal at that point, after it had been reported to the council, you still wanted to keep it up?"

Otremba; "Yes."

This is shocking, considering all military and elected officials swear an oath to the Constitution.  How on earth can a veteran and a representative of the PEOPLE, make decisions like this?   It is mind-boggling to me that there we have a council that believes that they are actually ABOVE THE LAW !!!    Is this the American way?   Is this patriotism?   I don't think so.

When Otremba was asked about granting my advertising bench on city hall property this is what he said under oath. 

Frost; "She requested a bench to be place--a couple, either of two locations--behind city hall here or in front of city hall, in the front, the main entrance."

Otremba; "Yes.  Use benches across the road. Why not put them over there? I was the one who brought that up. I was sitting right there, right-hand side of the east table here.  And I said no. No benches at city hall.  One was destroyed.  Forget it.  And the council did not question me or argue with me."

Frost;"So you think you're pretty much responsible for the argument that the council brought--"

Otremba;"Yes."

Again, what nation does Otremba think he is in?   Certainly not America which has equal/civil/human rights for everyone.

Now about Alderman Crowder

When Frost questioned Otremba about the attempted recall/resignation demand/removal of Alderman Brian Crowder, he responded by saying;

Otremba; "I was the instigator of it."

Frost;"Define what you mean by instigator."

Otremba; "I was council president at the time."

Frost;"So you--prior to the council meeting, you called everybody on the council and discussed this issue?"

Otremba;"Eventually.  And then I wrote out a petition of saying we're asking for your resignation for the fact that this incident--before he was charged--or charged or found guilty or not guilty.  We can't have this to show the city council, people beating up a member of the weaker sex."

Frost;"I'm going to ask a question here.  You were attempting to recall--"

Otremba;"Have him recalled.  Just as simple as that.  Before he was even charged."

Frost;"Okay. And--"

Otremba;"And we all signed it.  The seven of us signed it.  And I went to Chief Schirmers.  Chief Schirmers sent it to another officer who happened to be on duty.  He took it to his house.  And he was sitting--Crowder was not there at the time.  I knew he wouldn't be there.  We had about 30 people that night, too, to see what was going to happen."

Frost;"So I want to see if I understand this.  The letter says Alderman Crowder had been found not guilty, and you still wanted his resignation. Is that correct?"

Otremba;"Yes."

Frost;"If he wasn't guilty, why would you want his resignation?"

Otremba;"To squelch any possibility that the council approves of beating up--"

Frost;"But if he wasn't guilty of beating someone up--"

Otremba;"Doesn't matter."

Frost;"So the simple fact that the allegation was made was enough?"

Otremba;" Yes."

This is one of the most outrageous testimonies I have ever heard.  While I sat at the deposition that day, I couldn't help but think "Is this a former American veteran speaking?  

Shame on Urban Otremba.  He is one of the most intolerant/ignorant/arrogant/ruthless cowards I have ever met, and how dare he have the audacity to run for elected office in this town again after this?   

Were I Urban Otremba I would be concerned.  His comments were, in my opinion, incredibly defamatory. Otremba, Dodee Colombe, and many, many other members of the local senior posse have done an incredible amount of character assassination to Alderman Brian Crowder. 

Were I Alderman Crowder, I would be furious and hiring an attorney for more than one issue.  

For 3 solid years now, I have witnessed Alderman Crowder being picked on, teased, and shoved around.  Come on Little Falls. You deserve better from YOUR ELECTED OFFICIALS. 

I demand a council that obeys our laws. 

Malicious prosecution....is Morrison County Attorney Brian Middendorf guilty??

 Read for yourself that; "Prosecutors who bring criminal cases without adequate justification may be sued for doing so, and may not be protected by prosecutorial immunity if the prosecutors' actions were egregious enough. 

Malicious prosecution refers to a criminal or civil case that is filed without an adequate basis and for an improper purpose, such as harassing the defendant, ruining another person's reputation, or to knowingly place blame on someone other than the actual wrongdoer.  If a prosecutor files such a case and the charges are dismissed, the defendant can sue for malicious prosecution and seek financial damages.  The law that allows a malicious prosecution suit is aimed at presenting and addressing abuse of the legal process."

I am no lawyer, but in reading the article further, it is clear to me that Alderman Brian Crowder has a good case for a lawsuit against all those involved in the charges he was not guilty of.  In fact, Mayor VanRisseghem might be part of this potential lawsuit, for her part.  After all, she is the head of the Little Falls Police Department.

Remember, Brian Middendorf very publicly stated over KTLF radio, and the Morrison County Record(the official newspaper of the City of Little Falls), that Alderman Brian Crowder was guilty of three charges.(before he had his first hearing). 

Were I the county attorney, I would be worried.

There are certainly issues that warrant a complaint to the police standards board.   MBPOST board.

The following pictures were taken outside the courtroom on 9-22+23-2014 before the Alderman Brian Crowder trial.  Brian was found not guilty on all 3 charges.

Not all of these people were there for the Alderman Crowder trial, but most were.  I bet most were convinced he would be guilty.  How could any jury convict Brian?   They had no evidence to charge him in the first place.   It was all based on hearsay and the LFPD didn't even gather necessary evidence.  

 

 The young man with the glasses facing the camera is one of the 3 young men that shouted "you f-----g c--t "at me(disorderly conduct) while I was driving my vehicle by Coborn's awhile ago.

 

The woman in the purple shirt is Charlotte VanRisseghem, the mayors mother in law.  She is whispering to Dodee Colombe, Alderman Brian Crowder's aunt that according to the police report, struck him in the face in 2011.  I wonder what they were talking about?

 

 

 

 

The gal in this picture works in County Attorney Brian Middendorfs office.  She is seen visiting with the  Commander of the American Legion Bill Osberg who trespassed on my property to leave his business card, on a car that was not my own, with the words demanding I "fly flag right or not at all" written on it.  What don't Bill Osberg and others in this community understand about rights?   What nation do they think we live in?  One without Constitutional, civil, property, personal and human rights?  Military swear an oath to defend our Constitution.  Do the local people think the Constitution and Bill of Rights only apply to them, or that is okay for them to bend the law to suit their purposes?

I don't think so.

Who is this young man? Anybody know?

The young man with glasses that is looking straight at the camera, was with two other friends earlier this summer on the west side of Coborn's on the sidewalk, and one of the young men in the group shouted at me, while I was driving on the road.  He called me a f-----g c--t.  This is disorderly conduct.  I turned the vehicle around and filmed them as I asked them about what they had shouted at me.  I still have that video, and this is definitely the young man that denied shouting that. 

This picture was taken on the morning of the Alderman Brian Crowder trial outside the courtrooms.  I knew I recognized him, but needed to confirm it with the video I had taken.  I am not at all surprised to see him awaiting court. 

Two corrections in city newspaper article. ADAM FJELD.

I added a comment to correct two incorrect items in MCRecord's recent article "Council feels Constituents confused about local option sales tax in Little Falls."  My comment says; "Two corrections needed....the LFACR COMPLEX is to be located nearest the Living Hope Assembly of God...and Adam Fjeld(Mayors Pride Award Recipient), was the president of the official city Youth Task Force Committee when he made his plea /presentation to council in 2013 ....basically doing ILLEGAL FUNDRAISING IN VIOLATION OF THE STATE AUDITOR office regulations. 

Both of these corrections should be added in next weeks edition of the official City of Little Falls newspaper. 

Don't hold your breath.

I reported a crime.

Recently, I sent an email to Chief Greg Schirmers and Morrison County Attorney Brian Middendorf to report a crime.   The City of Little Falls Council and Golf Advisory Board members are in violation of their own law.   The Golf Board must meet every month, but has NEVER DONE THAT SINCE IT WAS CREATED IN 1989.  

Time will tell if either of these two people, charged to make sure laws are followed, will fulfill their duty.

I should not be the only citizen/taxpayer concerned with this matter. 

You might want to give each of them a call and ask what they are doing about this crime.

Agenda request from Robin

On Sunday September 21, 2014 I sent an email to Dan Vogt, City Administrator and Mayor Cathy VanRisseghem requesting to be put on the agenda of the Little Falls City Council meeting on October 6, 2014 to present suggestions for the development of an ethics/conflict of interest policy.  The email was sent within the required one week prior notice time period to get on the agenda. 

The last time I asked to be on the agenda(request emailed in May 2013), they denied my request to present and also denied Theresa Skorseth.   Theresa asked to be put on the council agenda to request the defunding of the illegal use of public funds given to the Sister City Committee. 

The public should know that the Little Falls City government staff and Council do not operate under an ethics/conflict of interest policy.  This is a problem that I hope they are willing to rectify.  

For 3 years, the Council has been stifling, limiting, or outright denying Theresa and myself, time to present our ideas to the public. 

This will be an issue during the upcoming elections. 

It must be.

If they can deny us, they can and will deny anyone.

Councils track record is unacceptable.

Mayor Cathy VanRisseghem

Since you are the supervisor of Chief Greg Schirmers, I suggest you exercise disciplinary action on the officers involved in the Brian Crowder charge (Officer David Stevenson, Captain Kyle Johnson and Chief Schirmers), and the sloppy police investigating done at the Oakland Cemetery on Memorial Day 5-24-14 involving a hit and run.   Alderman Brian Crowder was hit by Charlie Sprandels truck and received injuries.  Officer David Stevenson did not even get out of his squad car, on arrival at the cemetery.  The 911 call  was made by  Brian Crowder to report the incident. 

 Captain Kyle Johnson admitted under oath that he had not taken measurements of the location of the vehicle and where Alderman Crowder was hit.  Why not?  When asked why fingerprints were not gathered from Charlie Sprandels glasses, he stated he did not know.  

Your police department is an embarrassment to law enforcement.   It reflects directly on you, as Mayor and supervisor of the police department.

As you know, I am a candidate for Mayor.  Because I am a candidate,  it is my civic duty to report what I know about the lack of acceptable police procedures and proper follow through in any investigation.

As you are also aware, the Little Falls Police Department failed miserably to EVER IDENTIFY EVEN ONE OF THE MANY THAT THREATENED ME, one that was a terroristic threat.  This too, is an embarrassment to the City of Little Falls.  Law enforcement is an arm of the judicial system and when there are inadequate/improper investigations, that same judicial system may not function properly. 

Our police department operates on a budget in excess of a MILLION DOLLARS EVERY YEAR. 

As Mayor, part of your duties include oversight of the police department.

This will be an issue during the upcoming election.   I plan to make it a public issue. 

The taxpayers of Little Falls deserve better than this.

SNACKS NEEDED AT BOYS N GIRLS CLUB FOR LOCAL KIDS

Because of funding cuts, the Morrison County Boys n Girls club has been unable to provide after school snacks to their members.(the local children that attend).  Many staff members have brought in snacks at their own expense to feed the hungry mob.  But with membership levels high, that's a lot of mouths to feed. Charlie Sprandel, RACIST

In my opinion, Charles William Sprandel, 84 year old veteran and longtime American Legion member, is without a doubt, a RACIST.   He exposed his bigotry while under oath in the courtroom at the Brian Crowder jury trial.  When asked where he had gone and what he had done on the morning of Memorial Day 2014, (while looking at a platt map Todd Kosovich Morrison County assistant prosecutor had provided), Kosovich asked if Charlie knew what he was pointing to. Charlie answered (something like); "it's a mausoleum or a SMOKEHOUSE, or something."

This is an obvious reference to the Holocaust crematoriums. 

Shame on Charlie Sprandel.

Shame on Charlie for saying that Alderman Crowder had no right to park in front of his veteran father (Paul Crowders) final resting place on Memorial Day. 

Shame on Charlie Sprandel for loudly stating he had never run over any graves.  That he had more respect than that.  

I believe Charlie Sprandel is a very disrespectful, intolerant individual.

He displayed that in the courtroom. 

I bet Charlie Sprandel is not able to properly back up his vehicle safely.  I wonder if Charlie Sprandel had been drinking that morning.  That might explain why he didn't call the police to report what had happened.

 I wonder why Charlie wasn't charged with a crime, since he left the scene of an accident.  Minnesota law requires DRIVERS to report to law enforcement, if their vehicle is involved in an accident.  

Lots of remaining questions need to be answered.  

Hey Jeanne Copa Brastad and (Clifton Evans, Monica Hammond, JOHN ZYLKA)...

I was going to show you the comment you made on the Morrison County Record article titled "Police Lead Hensel out of Friday's Council meeting" 6-7-13, yesterday if you had returned to witness Alderman Brian Crowders trial, but you didn't return. 

  After your conversation with Joyce Crowder on 9-22-14 in the hallway outside of the Morrison County Courtrooms, I introduced myself to you, and stated I recognized your name from a comment/comments you had made about me.  You denied that you had EVER MADE ANY COMMENTS ONLINE ABOUT ME.  Remember that?

  Then during a break in the Brian Crowder trial, you came up to me inside the courtroom and asked what commentary thread that comments were on, and how you could research it.  I told you that the comments were made on the  MCRecord commentary thread, and MCRecord had deleted all the comments (that were made prior to their format change), when they started using the Disqus comment thread.  This change, ironically(probably not coincidental), directly followed the terroristic threat made by Darwin J. Allord.  

I had remembered your comments to be not so nice and wanted to ask you why you had made them.  

Well, as it turns out, your comment (at least one of them), was made on the most inflammatory, provocative, commentary threads that was ever written about me.   This commentary thread was in my attorneys opinion, an incitement of mob violence. 

 Clifton Evans(Mission Support Manager at SRI International) comment read; "Actually, her behavior is so irrational I'm not so sure she isn't a potential threat to any of us.  I think we should all be careful not to confront her as she appears to be on the edge of doing something violent.  She is creating a climate of fear in this city."

Following that comment a number of other comments, including your Facebook friends Darrell Allord(I believe the brother of Darwin J. Allord) and Monica Hammond, continued to incite others to write more outrageous and inflammatory comments. 

Your Facebook friend Monica Hammond wrote; "I am so tired of her crap! Something needs to be done!"

Then you wrote; "I so agree with you"

Your comment was 4 comments ahead of a terroristic threat, but you couldn't seem to recall that????????????  I wonder if you were thinking clearly when I spoke to you.

Then there are 4 other comments, including another provocative one by Clifton Evans(Mission Support Manager at SRI International) that read; "If not in jail, then a restraining order not allowing her within 100 feet of any of the town's residents. :o"

Tammy Verley Dalen(Field Operations Assistant at Nor-Sen, Inc.) writes; "I am so tired of the Robin Hensel Story.... Nobody complained about signs until she decided to make a spectical of herself and her home....If Little Falls is such a horrible place to live...move or find some kind of "peace" with the way things are.  Just that simple.  I'm sure when I say this is getting old and stupid I am speaking for more than myself." (Monica wrongly spelled spectacle, not me. It is quoted exactly as written.)

Jill Mackissock(Secretary at Royal Farms) then writes; "I totally agree with you.  I think if people would just quit talking to her and leave her out of the public eye she won't get the publicity she wants and maybe she would quit throwing a fit she acts worse than any 2 year old." 

The next comment is a TERRORISTIC THREAT made by DARWIN J. ALLORD that read; "Why not just pull a "gordie" and shoot her.  It worked last time!"


So how do you feel now Jeanne?  I hope I see you at some point in the future. I really would like to know why you made that comment.

ALDERMAN BRIAN CROWDER NOT GUILTY

Verdict is not guilty on all three counts.  They had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO CHARGE HIM ON.  Nada....ZIP....NOTHING FOLKS. This has to be one of the most sloppy, careless, shipshod jobs of policing I have  ever seen.  In my opinion, an embarrassment to law enforcement. Morrison County could not even play the audio of the 911 call made by Brian. Morrison County prosecutor, Todd Kosovich, actually forgot his clients name during yesterdays afternoon session!  Now what does that tell you about this local court system? Morrison County attorney Brian Middendorf snuck out the back door looking angry and defeated as he looked down at floor heading back to his office.  Imagine that.  He makes the public claim that Alderman Crowder is guilty BEFORE  Alderman Crowder had even had his first court appearance.  Shame on Brian Middendorf and the LITTLE FALLS POLICE DEPARTMENT officers involved; Chief Greg Schirmers, Captain Kyle Johnson and Officer Dave Stevenson.  Shame on them all.

Hey Jody...I forgot to mention...

Remember I have that audio where Mayor VanRisseghem aggresses over the Conference Room table at city hall during a work session, and shouts at Alderman Brian Crowder to "sit down and shut up".  I can't wait to start uploading videos that will show the public just how bizarre their lawless council operates.  It will make for a Happy Halloween.  Besides there's still that BOMBSHELL.

Little Falls Sister City....

At council meeting last night 9-15-14 Toni Wetzel city attorney once again implored the council to delete the Sister City Committee.   She strongly suggested deleting it completely.  The council will take up the issue again at the next council meeting on Oct. 6, 2014 and vote to delete or not. 

Imagine a council that gets it the first time.  Imagine regime change.

SPLASHPAD....MAYOR

During last nights council meeting 9-15-14 a vote passed to apply for a matching $100k grant for the splashpad through the National Joint Powers Alliance.  If the City is awarded the grant, the City has to give the matching 100K of tax dollars, in order to get the grant money, and even that won't be enough to build the splashpad which is projected to cost between 400-500K.

The problem is that Mayor Cathy VanRisseghem has stated multiple times at multiple meetings and again in her Mayoral candidacy announcement in the Morrison County Record, that NO TAX DOLLARS would be used for the splashpad.  The other problem is that the splashpad is included in the proposed sales tax referendum.  Now which is it.   The sales tax will cover it or not?   The City attorney was emphatic stating that whatever is in the sales tax referendum is what the money is to be used for.  

Dan Vogt asked permission for city staff to go to the service clubs and educate the public about the sales tax referendum.  This idea failed to be passed.  

Alderman Brian Crowder reminded councilors that it was their responsibility, under the city charter, to supervise city staff.   Problem is, they don't. 

City guilty again !!!!

From Council meeting 9-15-14.  The City of Little Falls has done few if ANY rental inspections since 2009. 

THIS IS SHOCKING AND TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE, and possibly violates state rental housing law.  Rental inspections are done for the safety of renters.  It seems to me that the city could care less about making sure that slum landlords are held accountable for providing safe housing to our residents.

Here is the background:  The City has had a housing inspection program in place since 2002 at which time a license fee was established for rental housing units.  This fee is set at 10$ per unit and is now generating revenue of nearly $14,000.00 per year. In reviewing the past history of the program, it was noted that while the City continues to collect the fee, little has occurred in the area of inspections for the past number of years for a variety of reasons.  The suspension of activity likely occurred due to the desire to update the current housing code and to develop an administrative fine process, both of which were authorized in 2009 and are not yet completed.  staff has had a number of conversations about the program and we feel that it needs to be reenergized. This will include restarting the regular inspection of rental housing units, a review of the City Code pertaining to housing maintenance(owner-occupied and rentals) and the ability to issue administrative fines for violations.  Additionally, I have had a conversation with the Police Chief to have the Housing Inspector work closely with the Police Department to help address blight conditions in the community. 

Mayor Cathy VanRisseghem stated that the police have discovered 4 meth labs during their inspections for blight recently.  Is this legal?   Use blight to get onto property and into homes, and then arrest for drug use?

It is important to note that this was occurring under the direction of the former co-city administrators Jerry Lochner and Lori Kasella.   They obviously didn't do their jobs correctly or this would never have happened.

At last nights Little Falls Council meeting your elected representatives voted to give $1,500.00 of your tax dollars to a lobbying firm; Flaherty and Hood (lobbyist Elizabeth Wefel at easefel@flaherty-hood.com for more info) that is fighting a legal battle to undermine the Minnesota Pollution Control Agencys new regulatory requirements pertaining to wastewater discharges into Lake Pepin watershed.

The Clean Water Act is the cornerstone of surface water quality protection in the United States. The statute employs a variety of regulatory and non-regulatory tools to sharply reduce direct pollutant discharges into waterways, finance municipal wastewater treatment facilities, and manage polluted runoff. 


Lake Pepin is at the downstream endpoint of the most polluted reach of the Mississippi River in the state.  It is no accident that this reach begins at the confluence with the Minnesota River.  The Minnesota supplies most of the sediment that makes the Mississippi constantly muddied, and threatens to fill Upper Lake Pepin with mud before the present century is past. Suspended solids from the Minnesota River make the Mississippi incapable of supporting the rich rooted vegetation that once made the river and Lake Pepin a haven for ducks and swans.  Nuisance algae blooms during hot, dry summers are another threat to water quality in Lake Pepin. Phosphorus concentrations are so high in the Mississippi, at 150 to 200 parts per billion, that a warm, calm dry spell in any summer could quickly trigger unsightly algae bloom.  While the MPCA has regulatory authority over wastewater discharge, agriculture-the source of much phosphorus and sediment in the Minnesota River-is largely unregulated. 


 The following is from a page from last night's council meeting:  These new regulatory requirements are likely to require costly upgrades at the wastewater plant.   Minnesota Environmental Science and Economic Review Board is appealing to the Minnesota Court of Appeals for river nutrient standards.  City staff (probably Greg Kimman) agrees with MESERB that  the new standards are not based on sound engineering science. (I bet he is a climate change denier also).  These new regulatory standards go into effect once the operating permit for the wastewater permit needs to be renewed.  In our case, our permit was scheduled for renewal in 2013, but has been delayed until the conclusion of the court proceedings. 

It is shocking that the City voted to authorize payment to a lobbying firm to undermine the MPCAs effort to stop further pollution from completely ruining Lake Pepin. 

The only council person to vote no was Alderman Crowder.

I read your letter to the editor titled "Garage sales still having issues" in the Morrison County Record. 

I agree that billboards on cars for garage sales or anything else is not the best way to display signs.   Signs are best suited for yards or on private property, but since off premise signs are not allowed, there isn't much choice. 

I suggest you recruit some of your friends and start a petition to get rid of the sign ordinance or revise it to allow off premise signs, as the Bloomington, Mn. sign ordinance.  Bloomington has some of the highest property values in the state, and they allow limited off premise signs for garage sales and boutiques.  

I am glad you acknowledge that the city is partially to blame.  Actually the city is to be blamed completely.  

The city council passed a very restrictive, unconstitutional sign ordinance more than 40 years ago, and off premise garage sale signs have been illegal since then. 

I came to Little Falls in 1994 and have never been on the Council. 

I sued the city because they violated my right to free speech. 

I am running for Mayor to ensure that laws are followed and ordinances that are too cumbersome are deleted.  My conscience and civic duty compel me to run for office. 

I can't be bought.

I noticed awhile back that all of the hate comments, and veiled incitement of mob violence towards me, have disappeared from your  public Facebook page.   Why is that?

Your comment that follows my recent letter to the editor "Invitation for Little Falls Mayoral Debate" is puzzling at best.   Your comment reads;" You mean "your" issues don't you Robin?  I am sure that the planned events will cover the issues important to the City, as a whole, quite satisfactorily.  While good government may be an issue it is not, from my opinion, the overarching issue with the Community."    

What is the "overarching issue" Rick?

Without good government, we have nothing. 

 I wonder why your focus isn't on "good government." 

My issues are the "peoples issues."  

Why isn't an open debate a great idea for Little Falls, especially since one active lawsuit against the City is still not resolved. (the Brooke Mallak lawsuit, Brooke IS A PRACTICING ATTORNEY IN LITTLE FALLS.)  She is suing because of excessive data lookups BY THE LITTLE FALLS POLICE DEPARTMENT.

Ironic that the same Judge that mediated my lawsuit settlement,  is mediating this case. (Judge Leo Brisbois)

Interesting to note that I have had FAR MORE LOOKUPS THAT HER, DURING A SHORTER PERIOD OF TIME.  

NO WONDER WHY.    I believe many of my lookups were done illegally also.  

Now will the good people of Little Falls be threatening her?  And will the good folks of Little Falls be hating her and spewing hate speech at her, everywhere she goes, because she sued? 

Probably not. 

Candidate challenge/forum

I just sent an email (9-7-14)to the other 2 Little Falls Mn mayoral candidates (incumbent Cathy VanRisseghem and Greg Zylka).   I suggested we debate all public concerns and take audience questions.  I believe ALL candidates should participate so the public can observe our interactions and listen to solutions.

Some clues as to WHY THE "ONLINE" THREAT INVESTIGATION ENDED....

In May 2012 my lawyer Larry Frost wrote to Little Falls Police Chief Greg Schirmers about his concern over the online threats I had previously received.  Attorney Frost is a retired Army Lt. Colonel, Intelligence officer.



" I am attorney for Robin Hensel.

 I am writing to you because I am concerned for my client.  Several people have made credible threats against her safety.

She lives within your jurisdiction and some of the threats would be executed within your jurisdiction.

Because I'm operating through a second party until now, I want to review the facts upon which the rest of the letter is based.

  My client explained to me that she  reported the threats to you. Specifically, all the internet postings attached to this letter were reported to you.

 In one case you told Ms. Hensel there was not significant threat because the threats were made on a website out of Georgia.  I agree that geographic distance is a valid threat analysis factor, but as you know, the geographic location of a web hosting company is no indicator at all of the physical location of a poster on that website.  Your comment that the posting individual is not likely to hop in his car and drive from Georgia to beat Ms. Hensel with his "Louis Ville Slugger" might be correct if the poster was, in fact, in Georgia--which we don't know.  Your analysis also ignores the fact that another poster, on a different website, uses the same rather odd phrasing "Louis Ville Slugger".  Reading the phrasing, cadence and language of the second post I'm sure led your intelligence officer to suspect they were the same person.  Repetition is an indicator for threat.

 There are multiple posts, some possibly indicate local origin.

 Your office took weeks to even file the action with the prosecutor.

Your office misfiled the action at least once internally, and possibly once with the prosecutor.

 There had been at least one incident where protesters were accosted, and one or more assaulted, by an individual during demonstrations("demonstration assault").  This had been reported to you.

  The following assumes these facts are substantially correct.  Since you indicate finding the Georgia poster's name is a long process, please estimate how long that process will take.  It has now been about four months since the threats occurred.  Also please advise specifically what date you subpoenaed the web host for the identity of this individual, whether or not the web host has moved to quash your subpoena sua sponte on behalf of the poster, and if so, when.

 Please be advised Ms. Hensel will file criminal complaints against internet threat posters shortly.  Please also be advised a civil lawsuit over this issue is possible.

Please advise all actions taken to date against all other persons lease adivse where the complaint about the demonstration assault stands.   As you know, allowing assaults in a situation like Ms. Hensel's can encourage others to do the same.

Listen particularly starting at 2.20 minutes where Brian Crowder reads about the much less RESTRICTIVE BLOOMINGTON MN GARAGE SALE OFF PREMISE SIGN ALLOWANCES....some of Minnesota's highest property values and the city where Paul Reuvers(atty for the League of Minnesota Insurance Trust who represented Little Falls in my free speech lawsuit).   At end of meeting Theresa Skorseth properly identifies Don Klinker's behavior as FASCIST.   LISTEN CLOSELY.  She went through the council proper procedure to get on the agenda, by requesting a week in advance and yet is not allowed to speak.   IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER HERE......THERESA AND I HAD BEEN REPORTING THE ILLEGAL USE OF PUBLIC FUNDS for almost a year and a half and it was falling on DEAF EARS of yourLAWLESS COUNCIL.   THIS MEETING TOOK PLACE ON June 17, 2013.   There are 3 infamous dates....June 3, 2013 abrupt mtg when council would not tolerate my signs and colorful attire.....June 7, 2013 my illegal arrest for being unwilling to sit in the BACK OF THE BUS, and June 17, 2014 when they disallowed Theresa to speak about the illegal use of public funds....Little Falls council has been giving 3k of public funds to host and entertain French foreign residents.  There is no PUBLIC PURPOSE AND THEREFORE THIS HAS BEEN MISUSE OF PUBLIC FUNDS FOR MANY MANY YEARS.  How will the city of Little Falls pay it's residents back this public money that they misused and who will be issued a misdemeanor for this, since the Sister City ORDINANCE #2.30 has penalties for violations.   I want to KNOW.!!!!   Are taxpayer lawsuits on the horizon....I THINK SO.
